This position supports the Food & Beverage and culinary teams by ensuring clean and sanitized equipment is consistently available and that kitchen, restaurant, and back-of-house areas are maintained in a safe and orderly condition. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a clean work environment, follows proper sanitation and safety procedures, and works effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced hotel environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following is a representative list of duties and is not exhaustive. Other duties may be assigned. Dishwashing & Sanitation Operate dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean and sanitize glassware, silverware, and other service items. Wash pots, pans, kitchen utensils, and other equipment according to established cleaning and sanitation procedures. Properly store clean glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and utensils in designated locations while minimizing breakage and damage. Follow proper procedures for cleaning, sanitizing, disassembling, and reassembling kitchen equipment as needed. Maintain appropriate sanitation standards throughout all dishwashing and kitchen areas. Kitchen & Restaurant Cleanliness Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen, restaurant, and designated Food & Beverage areas. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas, storage areas, and back-of-house spaces. Maintain the cleanliness of the back dock and dumpster area. Remove garbage from Food & Beverage areas and dispose of it in the designated hotel dumpster. Assist with maintaining the order and cleanliness of storage areas. Practice clean-as-you-go procedures throughout the shift. Food & Beverage Support Assist with the setup and breakdown of restaurant buffets as required. Assist Banquets by providing clean glassware and silverware as needed based on business demand. Support kitchen and Food & Beverage team members with cleaning and sanitation needs as assigned. Assist with proper food storage and organization when requested. Guest & Team Service Approach all interactions with guests and associates in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner. Maintain a warm and professional demeanor when interacting with guests, managers, and fellow associates. Work cooperatively with Culinary, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and other hotel departments. Attend meetings and training as required by management. Perform other reasonable duties as requested by management.
What You Bring Required:
Ability to follow established cleaning, sanitation, safety, and operating procedures. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain regular attendance and work scheduled shifts based on hotel business needs. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow associates.
Preferred:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous dishwasher, kitchen, restaurant, hotel, or Food & Beverage experience preferred but not required. Familiarity with commercial dishwashing equipment and basic kitchen sanitation practices is a plus. Work Environment and Physical Requirements This position is based on-property in Charlotte, NC. Flexible schedule required based on hotel business needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as applicable. Work is primarily performed in a commercial kitchen, dishwashing area, restaurant, and other back-of-house spaces. Exposure to heat, steam, water, cleaning chemicals, wet floors, and kitchen equipment. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work for extended periods or an entire shift. Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights, requiring hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
