Porter / Dishwasher Ember & Elm Restaurant Position Summary The Porter/Dishwasher is an essential member of the culinary team, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the kitchen while supporting chefs and cooks throughout service. This role ensures that all cookware, dishes, utensils, and kitchen areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, allowing the kitchen to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary dish station throughout each shift.
• Empty trash and recycling and maintain waste disposal areas.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors, clean drains, and perform scheduled deep-cleaning tasks.
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
• Stock clean plates, cookware, and utensils in designated areas.
• Support chefs with basic food preparation when needed, including peeling vegetables, portioning ingredients, and other prep tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of walk-in coolers, storage areas, and employee spaces.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
• Safely operate commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and uphold Ember & Elm's standards of excellence. Qualifications
• Previous restaurant or dishwashing experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to learn and assist wherever needed.
