Responsibilities Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans according to sanitation standards. Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items are hygienic and safe for food handling. Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup. Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and efficiently, ensuring a clean dining environment. Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work areas regularly. Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of trays, boxes, or supplies while adhering to proper ergonomic practices. Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with sanitation regulations. Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly, including dishwashers, sinks, and other small appliances. Support food handling procedures during meal service or catering events to uphold food safety management protocols. Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of low stock levels. Experience Previous food service experience is preferred, especially in restaurant or catering environments. Familiarity with sanitation practices and food safety procedures is highly desirable. Experience with dishwashing or kitchen cleaning tasks demonstrates reliability in maintaining hygiene standards. Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and basic knife skills is a plus but not required. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting is essential.
