Responsibilities Operate dishwashing machines efficiently while adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures. Manually wash and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment as needed. Assist with food preparation tasks and support the kitchen staff in maintaining cleanliness during busy service hours. Bypass or clear any blockages in dishwashing equipment to ensure continuous operation. Properly handle and transport heavy loads of dishes, cookware, and supplies using manual handling techniques. Maintain strict sanitation standards by cleaning workstations, sinks, floors, and storage areas regularly. Support bussing duties by clearing tables and assisting with general cleaning to uphold restaurant health and safety standards. Skills Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures. Experience with dishwashing machines, kitchen equipment operation, and manual handling techniques. Strong understanding of kitchen health and safety standards within a restaurant or catering environment. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while managing large quantities of dishes or supplies. Basic knife skills for assisting with food prep when necessary. Previous food service experience or restaurant background is preferred but not required. Excellent attention to detail with a proactive attitude toward cleanliness and organization.
