Fine dining restaurant in Newport looking for a year round part time kitchen dishwasher,. Position is Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday guaranteed Memorial Day-end of September, with the possiblity for additional days depending on reservations. During winter Position is Saturday, and Wednesdays, with the additional possibiblites for additional days depending on reservations. Jazz Fest Weekend, Valentine's Weekend, and Seafood and Wine Weekend are required weekends. Shifts are 2 hours guaranteed, but can be as long as 4 depending on reservation count. Position starts at 7:30pm. You will come in the middle of service and work on getting dishes done, and seeing what dishes are in immediate need to keep dinner service flowing. On slower nights there will be some deep cleaning. Must be clean, efficient, self starter and practice good food safety and sanitation. Must work well without supervision (parts of your shift may be without supervision).

VALID FOOD HANDLERS CARD REQUIRED.

Duties:

Following all proper food safety and sanitation guidelines. Washing all dishes Deep Cleaning Tasks Breaking down cardboard and filling recycle bin Sweeping Floors at end of every shift Operate dishwashing machinery safely and effectively, adhering to all kitchen health and safety standards. Other duties as needed Assures temperature of dishwasher is according to state and federal regulations. Qualifications Prior food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential! Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a commercial kitchen environment. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or cleaning machinery is a plus. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a fast-paced environment. Basic knife skills or culinary experience are advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candida Please Note that we are closed 7 weeks a year for vacation. Rough schedule for upcoming year given when hired.
