Responsibilities Thoroughly wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold cleanliness standards. Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following proper food safety guidelines. Support the kitchen team in meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, including countertops, sinks, and storage areas, adhering to safety standards in production. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, slicers, and other small appliances. Follow recipes accurately and assist with meal prep according to menu specifications. Help with general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces to ensure a hygienic environment. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow during busy periods. Qualifications Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Knowledge of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures. Basic culinary skills including knife techniques such as slicing and dicing. Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen team members. Experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus. Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and meal assembly is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to follow safety standards in production environments. Catering or food industry experience will be considered an asset.
