Responsibilities Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently, ensuring all dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized following food safety sanitizing procedures. Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in maintaining smooth service flow. Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area and kitchen by regularly cleaning sinks, counters, floors, and other surfaces in compliance with sanitation standards. Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and ensuring dining areas are tidy for guests. Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, pans, and dish racks safely while adhering to proper manual handling techniques. Follow all food safety management protocols and kitchen health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for all staff. Assist with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and other tools necessary for efficient kitchen operations. Requirements Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential. Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation procedures is highly desirable. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including lifting heavy items safely. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene standards. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation. Flexibility to work part-time hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
