Facility Attendant - Waldorf Senior & Recreation Center SummaryJob SummaryPerforms a variety of duties relative to the activities at an assigned recreation or community center.

Essential Job FunctionsEssential Job FunctionsCoordinates and monitors daily activities at an assigned community center or location.

Assists in the planning, implementation and supervision of programs at an assigned community center.

Prepares and maintains records as assigned.

Provide accurate cash handling, accounting, and end-of-day closeouts of cash, checks, and credit card transactions.

Assists with the promotion of recreational activities.

Assists with other recreational programs as assigned.

Serves as manager on duty in absence of supervisor.

Other DutiesPerforms other related work as assigned Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (These are pre-employment KSAs that apply only to Essential Job Functions.) Knowledge of--
  • Recreational activities and programs.
  • P.C. Operations. Ability to-
  • Plan and organize recreational activities.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and others encountered in the workplace.
  • Follow established program policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications (
Note:
Any acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted on a full-time year-for-year basis.) Training and/or
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. CPR and First Aid Preferred.
Experience:
Up to one year of recreation experience.
Licenses or Certificates:
None.

Physical Demands:
The work is mostly sedentary with frequent periods of light physical activity. Typical position requires worker to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, and crouch, reach, hold, grasp and turn objects and use fingers to operate a calculator, computer or typewriter keyboard. The work requires the ability to speak normally, to use normal or aided vision and hearing. Worker may be required to demonstrate an athletic activity or physical exercise.

Additional Information:
Work hours and location may vary and are contingent upon adequate participant registration and attendance. The Department reserves the right to transfer or terminate staff when necessary.
