Casual Part-time Community Center Attendant Municipality of Bethel Park Bethel Park, PA Job Details Part-time $17.54 an hour 14 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Clerical experience Productivity software Stakeholder relationship building Full Job Description SUMMARY Provides professional and courteous customer service to residents, clerical support to the Recreation Department, as well as light janitorial support within the Community Center. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Assistant Recreation Director. This is a casual position that will pick up shifts as they become available based on scheduled time off. Must have an open availability and be able to work during Community Center hours of Mondays - Saturdays 8:45 am-9:15 pm and Sundays 11:45am - 6:15pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow and demonstrate the Municipality's mission, guiding principles, and values Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders Answer calls, greet visitors, and provide information on Recreation & Municipal related questions in a professional manner Process recreation program registrations and fee payments Responsible for assistance with rental requests (i.e., provision of additional tables or chairs) Keeps accurate records of all rental requests, reservations and payments, including contact and correspondence with facility renters Generates a daily/weekly printout of all Community Center classes, functions and events Maintains Community Center schedule to assure all classes and events are up to date and scheduled in the proper room at the proper time Checks facility schedule for rental availability and assists with rental functions Assists the Recreation Department with special projects as needed Coordinate pavilion rentals and issue park and recreation facility permits Process rental permits and fee payments Prepares close out reports and daily deposits Prepare Recreation Board reports & correspondence Assist with the development of quarterly Recreation brochure by proofreading correspondence and publications Responsible for observing security monitors regularly to ensure safety of facility patron compliance with Center policies Responsible for daily general cleanup of the facility as needed, such as trash removal, removal of debris on floors or tables, restocking and cleaning of bathrooms Performs other assigned tasks as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Availability to work anytime during the Community Center operating hours Ability to maintain a professional and courteous disposition at all times Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders Skill in the operation of standard office equipment Ability to learn and utilize recreation software Ability and willingness to take the provided First Aid/CPR/AED Certification class Knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and office assistance techniques Thorough knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic Ability to type and make basic arithmetical calculations Ability to follow oral and written instructions
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school Previous general clerical skills At least 6 months of previous customer service experience Proficiency in Microsoft 365 PHYSICAL DEMANDS Position requires high stamina, involving constant movement, lifting, and setup tasks. Key physical demands include sitting, lifting/moving equipment up to 10 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, using stairs, bending, kneeling, significant use of hands/fingers to operate office equipment, and performing light manual labor for setup/tear down and cleaning duties. Clear vision and hearing are essential for safety, monitoring facilities, and communicating with the public.
