Youth Programs Manager

Job Description

Position Summary:
Houston Oaks seeks a passionate Youth Programs Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for the comprehensive management, health, and aesthetic appeal of the club's aquatic ecosystems, ensuring optimal conditions for both wildlife and an exceptional member fishing experience. The Youth Programs Manager will supervise activity staff, develop age-appropriate programming, maintain operational standards, and foster meaningful connections with Members and their families. This position requires strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with a passion for creating memorable experiences for children and families, all aimed at fostering connections and ensuring our team thrives together in a spirit of collaboration and shared purpose.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead, supervise, train, and support Activity Leaders and childcare team members to ensure high-quality Member experiences.
  • Oversee daily operations of youth and recreation programs, including childcare services, family activities, camps, and club events.
  • Ensure all programs and play environments maintain the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, organization, and Member satisfaction.
  • Greet Members and guests in a warm, professional, and welcoming manner.
  • Build strong relationships with Members and families through positive communication and personalized service.
  • Develop, organize, and implement engaging recreational and educational activities for children and families.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's activities, behaviors, schedules, and special instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with club policies, safety procedures, and childcare standards.
  • Coordinate scheduling, staffing coverage, and operational needs for childcare and recreation programs.
  • Maintain accurate records related to attendance, incidents, activities, and operational reports.
  • Assist with planning and execution of family events, youth events, seasonal programming, and other club activities, including setup and breakdown when needed.
  • Monitor inventory and ensure toys, equipment, and recreational spaces are properly sanitized and maintained.
  • Support children's emotional and social development while fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment.
  • Collaborate with club leadership and other departments to enhance overall Member experiences.
  • Address Member concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous leadership or management experience in recreation, childcare, hospitality, youth programming, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team development skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a Member-focused mindset.
  • Ability to create a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for Members and families.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • A flexible schedule, with availability to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on programming needs.
Working Conditions:
  • Work may include both indoor and outdoor activities with exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and weather conditions.
  • Flexible schedule required, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
  • Variable noise levels may occur depending on activities and events.
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing, walking, stooping, bending, and twisting for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 40-50 lbs.
  • Comfort working in varying outdoor weather conditions, including sun, rain, heat, and cold.
  • Visual acuity to identify hazards and ensure the safety of participants in outdoor settings.
  • Strong auditory and verbal communication skills to instruct and supervise groups in noisy or open environments.

Pay:
From $55,000.00 per year
