Responsibilities Meridell Achievement Center is a 134-bed, seclusion free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located northwest of Austin. Our 60-acre campus is complete with mature oaks, rolling hills, and plenty of walking paths and outdoor spaces. We have 7 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development needs with a swimming pool, gymnasium, sports court and playing fields. We provide 24-hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 10 to 17 years old with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs to teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning.

Position Summary:
The Recreation Therapy Manager is responsible for developing, planning and managing all recreational activities that aid in improving the physical, cognitive, emotional and social functioning of patients. Activities will involve working closely with patients, family members and treatment team professionals in providing individual and group-based interventions to address therapeutic treatment goals for patients.
Your Impact:
Conducts and oversees activity assessments, group therapy services, and individual and family therapy, as requested, in conjunction with clinical therapist/director. Oversees planning and coordination of recreation therapists responsible for recreation services, to include activity assessments and documentation of services delivered. Provides oversight of coordination of special events and campus activity programs. Functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team within the organization. Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position. Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling or a similar educational degree required.
Experience:
5-8 years of Recreational Therapy experience required. 5 years of leadershuo experience, perferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Certified Recreation Therapy Specialist Knowledge and Skills:

Education/Training:
