Highlands Club FDA Cross-Trained Program Group Leader STATUS:
Part-time, Non-Exempt

2:30PM•6:30
PM Summer Hours :
Monday•Friday 7:30am-3:30pm (7:30am•10:00am FDA) Crossed trained as FDA (Front Desk Associate) at our Highlands Clubs.
SUMMARY:
Role model. Supervise, lead, teach, and explore with youth Club members (5-18yo) in activities and special programming including Triple Play (sports and fitness programs), Power Hour (reading and STEM), Outdoor Recreation (hiking, swimming, gardening), Visual and Performing Arts, and other group games and activities.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Ensure physical and emotional safety of members at all times Create a safe and inclusive environment for youth to learn and grow Foster positive relationships with youth and serve as a role model Encourage program participation in a fun, enriching environment Participate in training and development opportunities Monitor individual and group behavior and implement discipline policies for members as necessary Assist in leading programs including sports activities, adventure programming, reading programs, gardening, visual and performing arts, and other duties as assigned Maintain accurate records of attendance and program participation
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up and strike daily programming equipment and spaces and assist in cleaning duties Participate in daily problem solving, critical thinking, and adaptability May be required to operate Club Vehicle if 21 or older Participate in special programs and events including sports tournaments, carnivals, festivals, off-campus trips, parades, etc.
CROSS TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure a healthy and safe environment for all Club members and staff. Supervise guests and members to ensure they are in approved, designated areas only. Cross train as a
Youth Development Professional:
Supervise, lead, teach, and explore with youth Club members (5-18yo) in activities and special programming including Triple Play (sports and fitness programs), Power Hour (homework help and tutoring), Outdoor Recreation, Visual and Performing Arts, and other group games and activities. Ensure parties do not pass the front desk without a validated reason for being onsite. Manage the front desk and serve as receptionist for the Club during morning business hours. Answer incoming calls, fielding questions and redirecting as needed. Manage sign up sheets and communications regarding field trips. Provide parents with basic Club information and program updates. Enter daily attendance and program attendance. Keep the front desk and lobby organized and cleaned Organize lost and found as necessary. Effectively and efficiently access and use cloud-based database management system. Efficiently uses all components of Google Drive (docs, sheets, forms, Gmail, and calendar). Perform other administrative duties as assigned by management staff. Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment. Participate in cleaning Club facilities as needed.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
High School diploma or GED required, some college preferred Experience in working with children is strongly preferred Strong communications skills, both written and verbal Ability to effectively manage behavior and maintain discipline in a positive manner or the ability to learn and develop these skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the youth and program Desire to motivate and provide an enriching environment for youth Fluency in Spanish a plus Willingness to be cross trained as closing FDA ( Front Desk Associate) a plus Lifeguard, Wilderness Swim Safety, or Wilderness First Aid Certifications a plus CPR and First Aid Certifications or willingness to obtain
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be in moderate physical shape (able to stand for long periods of time, walk, and occasionally run without tiring). May be required to lift up to 55 lbs. May be outside in all kinds of weather.
