Events & Taproom Manager Kinsmen Brewing | 409
Canal Street, Milldale, CT Pay:
$30 per hour

Flexible scheduling, with required Friday and Saturday night availability and rotating or floating Sunday shifts. Position Overview Kinsmen Brewing is seeking an organized and hospitality-driven Events & Taproom Manager to oversee event inquiries, planning, coordination, and execution while supporting daily taproom operations. As a growing Connecticut brewery, Kinsmen hosts weddings, private celebrations, corporate gatherings, live music, ticketed events, and weekly entertainment across Clark Hall and the taproom. We are looking for a hands-on leader who can manage events from the initial inquiry through completion, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and ensure seamless coordination between our event spaces and taproom operations. Event Management Responsibilities Oversee the coordination and execution of events at Kinsmen Brewing, including:
Private Events:
Weddings, showers, corporate gatherings, birthday parties, and other private celebrations.
Ticketed Events:
Live music, concerts, specialty programming, festivals, and themed nights.
Taproom Reservations:
Coordinate smaller parties, group reservations, and gatherings within the taproom.
Key responsibilities include:
Responding promptly to event inquiries received through the Kinsmen Brewing website and OpenTable. Communicating with prospective clients, answering questions, discussing event needs, and coordinating bookings. Conducting venue tours and consultations to showcase event spaces and help clients plan their gatherings. Developing event timelines, staffing plans, floor layouts, and operational checklists. Coordinating with clients, vendors, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure events are properly planned and executed. Overseeing event setup, on-site execution, and breakdown. Managing event schedules and ensuring smooth transitions between Clark Hall events and regular taproom operations. Coordinating staffing, bar service, and supplies based on each event's requirements. Troubleshooting issues as they arise and maintaining a high standard of hospitality throughout every event. Events at Kinsmen must feel seamless and polished, whether hosting a 150-person wedding in Clark Hall or a 20-person birthday gathering in the taproom. Taproom & Bar Management Responsibilities Support daily taproom and bar operations, assisting bartenders during busy shifts. Coordinate staff scheduling, shift coverage, and communication surrounding upcoming events. Assist with beverage inventory, ordering, and maintaining bar cleanliness and organization. Support staff training, consistent service standards, and an exceptional guest experience. Work closely with brewery management to ensure smooth taproom operations alongside private and public events. Qualifications Experience in event planning, event coordination, hospitality, or venue management. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with confidence interacting with clients, vendors, and staff. Experience handling event inquiries, conducting venue tours, and coordinating bookings preferred. Leadership experience and the ability to coordinate staff in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with bar operations, craft beer, and cocktails preferred. A proactive, detail-oriented, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
