Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and strategic fundraising professional to fill the hybrid role of Mid-Level Major Gifts & Special Events Officer. This pivotal role combines strategic relationship management for a portfolio of donors giving $1,000-$10,000, with innovative event planning designed to elevate our fundraising efforts and strengthen meaningful connections with donors and community partners. The primary focus of this role is to deepen donor engagement, increase retention, and build a strong pipeline for major gifts. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring a collaborative, donor-centered approach to maximizing engagement and advancing our mission-driven initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact through major gift cultivation, impactful events, and targeted donor relations. Key Responsibilities - Portfolio Management & Direct Solicitation (50% of time) Manage a portfolio of 100+ donors and prospects. Execute personalized donor cultivation through calls, emails, and face-to-face visits. Solicit donors for renewed annual contributions and major gifts to meet revenue goals. Identify high-capacity donors to transition to Major Donor Circle. Event Management & Strategy (40% of time) In close collaboration with staff and board members, plan and execute the annual Soiree auction gala. Coordinate vendors, budgets, timelines, and logistical workflows. Leverage event attendance to identify and recruit new donor prospects. Secure corporate and host committee sponsorships for this event. Data, Operations and Management (10% of time) Track all donor interactions and moves management milestones in our CRM. Analyze donor data to identify giving trends and upgrade opportunities. Prepare regular progress reports on event revenue and portfolio activity. Manage one staff member tasked with special events and volunteer management responsibilities
Qualifications- Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in non-profit fundraising or event management.
CRM Skills:
Proficiency with fundraising databases (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce).
Communication:
Exceptional writing and public speaking skills.
Organization:
Proven ability to manage multiple project timelines simultaneously.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
