Creative Dining Services is looking for a Catering Coordinator at the MSUFCU corporate buildings in East Lansing, MI. The Catering Coordinator will assist the management team with the operational tasks associated with scheduled catering events. Works professionally and cooperatively to ensure excellence in customer service, attractive food presentation, and supports sustainability and fiscal responsibility in accordance with company standards.

Schedule will vary and depends upon events. Flexible availability required. The majority of events are before 5pm. Occasional weekend and evening events.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

High school diploma or equivalentTwo years of experience in food service or cateringStrong organizational skills and communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to be Professional and Friendly with catering customersValid Driver's License and good driving record requiredAbility to multi-task, pivot to make changes at the last minute and be Creative!

Review scheduled catering events and works with the Food Service Director and Executive Chef to determine logistical needs, performs inventories and submits requests for products and equipment to be ordered and schedules appropriately.

Coordinates with the catering team and support departments to include building service staff, regarding the food and beverage expectations, delivery, set-up and break down of events, staffing, etc.

Drives MSUFCU Fleet vehicleAssists Food Service Director with orientation, department cross-training and assigned corporate training for all catering employees.

Ensures that appropriate sanitation, organization, and safety standards are met through the use of checklists, hands-on supervision, and follow-up.

Assists with ordering food for eventsMaintains records and prepares reports for continuous improvement for catering events.

Work with supervisors to ensure all catering equipment is properly returned to their correct place after each event.
