ABOUT HUSTLE HOOPS
Hustle Hoops is an active basketball, fitness, and events facility serving youth athletes, adult players, families, teams, trainers, leagues, rental customers, and event guests. We are looking for dependable, energetic, and detail-oriented Game Operations Associates to help operate basketball games, leagues, parties, events, and daily facility activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys sports, working with people, and being part of an active team environment. Associates can train for multiple assignments, increasing their scheduling opportunities and creating a pathway toward future leadership roles.
POSITION SUMMARY
Game Operations Associates help ensure that games, leagues, parties, rentals, and events operate safely, accurately, and on schedule. Depending on training and certification, assignments may include scoreboard and clock operation, scorekeeping, event hosting, league-site coordination, customer check-in, administrative support, facility setup, cleaning, and event closeout. Employees receive $15 per hour for every approved assignment. Any required 15-minute pre-event arrival time is scheduled, recorded, and paid.
AVAILABLE ASSIGNMENTS
Game Operations Associates may be trained and scheduled for one or more of the following assignments: Scorekeeper or scoreboard operator Game clock operator Customer and team check-in Roster and attendance management Party or event host League-site support League-site coordinator In-house basketball official Court and equipment setup Facility cleaning and event turnover Administrative and scheduling support Event closeout and reporting Additional certifications may improve scheduling priority and provide more opportunities to work different events.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Arrive ready to work at the scheduled time, including paid early-arrival time when required. Welcome teams, players, parents, members, and guests. Assist with participant check-in, attendance, registrations, and roster verification. Operate scoreboards and game clocks accurately. Track scores, fouls, timeouts, possession, and final game results when assigned. Prepare courts, tables, equipment, signage, party rooms, and event areas. Support leagues, tournaments, rentals, parties, camps, clinics, and special events. Provide customers with accurate information and professional assistance. Follow established basketball rules, event procedures, and facility policies. Maintain accurate score, roster, attendance, payment, equipment, and closeout records. Process approved cash or card sales after completing the required training. Count an assigned cash drawer for Manager-on-Duty reconciliation. Help manage event transitions and keep games and activities running on schedule. Return equipment and reset courts, rooms, and event spaces. Complete assigned cleaning and facility-readiness checklists. Identify and report safety concerns, customer complaints, conduct issues, damaged equipment, and scheduling problems. Stop unsafe activity and immediately contact the Manager on Duty when necessary. Complete incident reports and event closeout documentation. Follow the direction of the Assistant Manager or Manager on Duty and the responsible program leader.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 16 years old for basic supervised assignments. Must be at least 18 years old for officiating, site coordination, party-lead, cash-handling, or independent-access assignments. Dependable weekday-evening and weekend availability. Availability for at least one weekday evening, one weekend block, and assigned events. Strong punctuality, communication, and attention to detail. Ability to follow rules, checklists, schedules, and established procedures. Willingness to work with children, families, athletes, coaches, officials, and customers. Ability to learn scoreboards, game clocks, rosters, event systems, and facility procedures. Ability to remain calm and professional in an active sports environment. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to move ordinary event supplies and sports equipment. Ability to obtain required criminal-background and Pennsylvania child-abuse clearances. Employees age 18 and older must obtain CPR/AED and basic first-aid certification within 60 days.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Basketball playing, coaching, officiating, or scorekeeping experience. Experience with youth sports, leagues, tournaments, parties, camps, or events. Customer-service or hospitality experience. Experience operating a scoreboard or game clock. Familiarity with basketball rules and game procedures. Experience working in a recreation, fitness, or sports facility.
PAY AND SCHEDULING OPPORTUNITIES
$15 per hour for every approved Game Operations assignment. Required 15-minute readiness or early-arrival periods are paid. Normal schedules range from approximately 5-20 hours per week. Temporary scheduling of up to 30 hours per week may be available during busy periods with management approval. Employees may train for multiple assignments to increase their scheduling opportunities. Additional certifications and strong performance may create opportunities for priority scheduling and future advancement. All required setup, meetings, reporting, event closeout, and other authorized work time must be recorded and paid.
TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION
New Game Operations Associates complete a structured onboarding and certification process.
Training may include:
Customer service and facility expectations Youth-safety procedures Employee conduct and communication Timekeeping and schedule acceptance Event check-in and roster verification Scoreboard and clock operation Court, table, equipment, and signage setup Cash and card transaction procedures Incident reporting and escalation Emergency-response procedures Cleaning, equipment return, and event closeout Employees must complete the required training and demonstrate competency before receiving independent assignments.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires frequent standing and walking in an active sports facility. Employees work around children, families, crowds, whistles, music, basketball games, sports equipment, food-service areas, and cleaning products. Evening and weekend availability is an essential part of the position.
