Job Description

Brewery Operations Manager Location:
Hilo, HI | Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking a dependable, high-energy Brewery Operations Manager to lead day-to-day production at our craft beverage facility. This role bridges hands-on plant operations with floor leadership—overseeing brewing, packaging, warehousing, preventative maintenance, and team scheduling. The ideal candidate brings proven experience in food or beverage manufacturing, thrives in a fast-paced cellar environment, and takes pride in strict quality control, proactive equipment upkeep, and building a safe, collaborative team culture.
Key Responsibilities Production & Quality Assurance:
Supervise end-to-end beverage production and packaging runs. Conduct routine QA/QC checks to maintain batch consistency, flavor profile integrity, and strict cellar standards.
Ekos & Inventory Management:
Own the operational workflow in Ekos Brewery Management software—logging batches, tracking cellar transfers, depleting raw materials, tracing lots, managing finished goods, and generating reorder points.
Warehouse & Logistics:
Oversee incoming freight and outgoing distribution shipments. Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to stage materials, organize walk-in cold storage, and manage inventory turnover.
Facility & Equipment Upkeep:
Perform and schedule routine preventative maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, and CIP cycles across tanks, transfer pumps, packaging lines, and auxiliary brewery systems.
Safety & Sanitation Compliance:
Enforce rigorous sanitation protocols aligned with HACCP, CGMP, and OSHA guidelines, maintaining strict standards for industrial chemical handling (caustics, acids, sanitizers) and PPE.
Team Leadership & Scheduling:
Build production schedules, train floor staff on machinery operation and safe material handling, and foster an accountable, positive, and communicative work environment.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
2+ years of supervisory or lead operations experience in a commercial brewery, kombucha brewery, cidery, or food/beverage manufacturing plant.
Systems Knowledge:
Hands-on experience with Ekos (or comparable beverage/ERP inventory software) for batch tracking, inventory depletion, and recipe management.
Mechanical Aptitude:
Practical experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting beverage processing gear, pumps, sanitary valves, and packaging machinery.
Warehouse & Equipment:
Demonstrated warehouse management experience and active or prior Forklift Operator certification.
Food Safety Standards:
Working knowledge of HACCP protocols, CGMP compliance, and standard cellar CIP chemical safety.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs regularly, maneuver full kegs/drums with appropriate equipment, stand for full shifts, and work safely in a wet-cellar environment.
