BREWER JOB DESCRIPTION
One Allegiance is a thriving brewpub with expansive outdoor space that takes pride in brewing a range of high quality beer styles. We are looking for a motivated individual to be hands-on with all aspects of production. This role will be focused on wort production, cellar work, and packaging. The selected candidate will be involved in many facets of the brewery that will have growth potential into the future.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead effort daily to maintain a clean, organized and safe workspace Brewing on the 7bbl brewhouse Transferring and cellaring beer according to production schedule CIP brewhouse tanks, fermenters, and cellar equipment Manage raw material and chemical inventories Participate with Front of House and Kitchen to develop food pairings, new beers, and taproom variants Support Front of House with beer knowledge, changing kegs, and draft maintenance Maintain accurate and legible records Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and process challenges Perform daily, weekly and monthly maintenance on brewhouse and cellar equipment Attend industry events in a professional and responsible manner
Education & Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of commercial brewing experience Preferred formal brewing education or degree in fermentation science, engineering or a related field Ability and knowledge to safely and properly handle brewing chemicals Strong mechanical background Love of craft beer and involvement in the industry is a plus Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new procedures Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented, and process-oriented skills Ability to multitask and manage time while being detail-oriented Need to be self-motivated and forward-thinking
Physical Demands:
Continually lift, drag, carry and manipulate hoses, parts, pumps, buckets and reservoirs Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time Must be able to lift 55lb sacks of grain, 44lb boxes of hops and move 165lb kegs Ability to work in a loud, wet, cold, hot, indoor, and outdoor environment frequently Ability to climb stairs, ramps and ladders Work in small and / or confined spaces Work safely with chemicals and utilize proper PPE Compensation includes competitive pay based on experience and benefits such as paid time off. The anticipated weekly work load will be 25-30 hours. Qualified candidates will be contacted immediately for an interview.
