Requires a caring attitude and outgoing personality as well as familiarity with a dining room setting. Must have the ability to make residents and families feel comfortable in a dining atmosphere. Must be diplomatic and calm under all circumstances. Must be willing to work with geriatric residents.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet residents and visitors in dining room at meal times. Assist residents and visitors with seating. Serve meals and beverages. Offer alternates and/or additional servings to residents and visitors. Set up dining room prior to each meal with tablecloths, napkins, silverware, condiments, etc... Keep all condiment containers filled and cleaned. Clean dining area after meal service. Wash breakfast dishes. Responsible for the clean and dirty dish room. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor or administrator. Inform dietary manager of any supplies that are needed Must remove all walkers and rollators at all meals. Must assist resident with retrieval of rollators and walkers after meals.
Physical Work Environment :
Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and to exert 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical activity involves sitting, walking, standing, carrying, bending, lifting, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
