Job Description

Day (United States of America) Host/Hostess This individual will visit patients for menu selection, deliver and pick-up of patient meal trays. They will also deliver nourishments and floor stocks.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Skills in oral and written communication required.
  • Good organization skills and ability to work within pre-defined time frames and deadlines.
  • Must have superior customer service skills and professional appearance.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and body mechanics.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients, their families and with other healthcare team members.
  • Visits patients for menu selection using Bedside Menu Entry or printed menu.
  • Delivers trays to patient bedside using established scripting and ensures satisfaction with meal by providing missing items, checking diet order, etc.
  • Assembles and delivers room service trays to patients within 45 minutes of order.
  • Retrieves trays from patient rooms noting patients not eating well. Offers these patients alternate food choices; consults dietitian when necessary.
  • Before leaving patient's room, ask to offer assistance with any other request.
  • Unloads and scraps patient trays and assists with dish washing when necessary.
  • Delivers floor stocks, nourishments, and tube feedings to patient care units.
  • Exhibits excellent customer service skills, team work, and ability to proactively solve problems with supervisor and teammates.
  • Follows all food safety and infection control policies and procedures.
