Position Overview Flight West is looking for a polished, organized, and genuinely hospitable Maître d' to lead our front door. You set the tone for every guest's experience , from the first phone call or reservation to the moment they're seated. How you carry yourself, your energy, and the way you read and take care of people define how Flight West is remembered. You're the link between guests, service staff, and management. You communicate guest needs and management priorities to the floor clearly and in real time, keeping the room flowing, service efficient, and guests happy. On busy nights, you're the calm in the center of it. Responsibilities Greet and seat guests according to reservation flow and table rotation. Manage OpenTable reservations and coordinate with service staff. Maintain composure and professionalism under pressure. Ensure the entry area remains organized, clean, and welcoming. Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and managers.

Lead the host team:

training, shift setup, and holding the standard at the door Own the reservation book: pacing, table management, waitlist, and seating strategy Greet, seat, and build relationships with regulars and VIPs Book large parties and private events by phone and email; give walkthroughs of the space to prospective event clients Coordinate closely with servers, bar, and management on timing, special requests, and guest notes Handle guest concerns with grace and escalate when needed Keep the entrance and front-of-house presentation sharp at all times Qualifications Prior hosting or customer service experience preferred. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Poised, confident, and gracious under pressure.

Opportunities & Growth Hosts who thrive in this role will have the opportunity to train for leadership in guest relations, events, or management positions as Flight West grows. 2+ years in a Maître d', lead host, or head reservationist role in a high-volume or upscale restaurant Experience with reservation platforms (OpenTable, Resy, SevenRooms, or similar) Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks under pressure Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident on the phone and in person Detail-oriented and comfortable with email, Excel/Google Sheets, and basic tech Polished appearance and a warm, professional presence Reliable, consistent, positive, and high-energy Available evenings, weekends, and holidays; season (Nov-Apr) and Art Basel week are our busiest stretch Able to stand and walk for extended periods Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
