We're searching for someone who is enthusiastic, takes direction well, and communicates easily with customers and team members. The server assistant works closely with our main servers to make sure customers get their food on time, and their beverage glasses stay filled. You'll be responsible for clearing plates and cleaning the table when customers leave, and then resetting it with tableware for the next guests. A sense of urgency and organization is required to keep the kitchen and server stations fully stocked with condiments and other food items. You'll learn our menu to address customer questions and alert servers when customers need them. You should be familiar with food safety rules and have some food service experience. Compensation:

$14 per hour

Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring kitchen and server stations are kept fully stocked with condiments and all necessary items Fill water glasses, bring beverages, or refill customers' glasses, and remember to refill condiments and bring them to the table Seat customers, respond to any special needs and requests quickly, and relay them to the waiter or manager, if necessary Clean and clear tables of debris and bring dirty dishes to the kitchen to be washed. Prepare tables for the next guests Responsible for delivering food to the table on time, making sure to ask if customers need anything more before leaving

Qualifications:

Has the ability to stand, bend, and lift for longer periods of time for the duration of the shift Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays and to help out with extra shifts as needed Familiarity with proper handling of food and drinks and kitchen equipment This position requires a high school diploma or a GED equivalent Prior experience working in the food service industry is preferred, but not required About Company Located on the coastline of Hilo Bay, the Grand Naniloa Hilo, a DoubleTree by Hilton, is 30 miles from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
