$50 Per Hour Think You Can Run the Room? Show Us. Along with your application, record a 2-4 minute mock sports card break on your phone and email the video to tom@ontimetalent.com . Treat the camera like you're live on Whatnot . Show us your personality, energy, sports knowledge, and card knowledge while opening or showcasing cards you already own. Talk through the players, products, rookies, parallels, autos, numbered cards, SSPs, case hits, and chasers you recognize—and show us how you'd keep a live audience entertained. No editing. No professional setup. Phone video, one take. We want to see the real you behind the camera. You Know the Hobby. But Could You Run the Room? You know who the chase rookies are before the checklist drops. You know which parallels actually matter. You can look at a product and immediately tell someone what they're hunting. You know why a Downtown gets the room going. Why a Gold Vinyl /10 changes the entire break. Why pulling a Superfractor , Kaboom! , Color Blast , or 1-of-1 deserves a reaction that matches the card. Maybe your friends already consider you the sports card guy. Here's the question: Could you turn all of that knowledge into entertainment? At Mount Olympus Rips , we're looking for sports card collectors with the personality, confidence, and energy to step in front of a camera and become the person hundreds of other collectors want to spend their night watching. Knowing Cards Gets You in the Door. Personality Keeps People Watching. We can put incredible product in front of you. We can give you the platform. We can bring collectors into the room. What we can't manufacture is personality. When you're live for hours, there won't be a monster hit coming out of every pack. Can you carry a conversation when the cards aren't carrying the show? Can you make a first-time buyer feel like they're already part of the room? Can you remember the regular who always buys the Vikings? Can you talk NFL, NBA, or MLB while you're ripping? Can you create energy before the big card ever comes out? And when something absolutely ridiculous finally does hit— Can you create a moment people want to replay? That's breaking at a high level. You're Not Applying to Open Boxes. Opening the product is the easy part. Your real job is to build an audience around yourself.
You'll:
Host live sports card breaks on Whatnot Entertain and interact with collectors in real time Build relationships with repeat customers and regular viewers Know the major players, rookies, prospects, products, parallels, inserts, and chasers Create excitement around autos, SSPs, RPAs, numbered cards, case hits, and 1-of-1s Talk sports naturally while keeping the break moving Learn what individual customers collect and make them feel recognized Keep the room entertaining during both massive hits and slower stretches Stay current on new releases, player performance, hobby trends, and market movement Develop your own personality and style behind the camera Help turn casual viewers into members of the Mount Olympus community Think About the Best Breaker You've Watched. You probably don't remember them because they opened cards correctly. You remember their voice . Their reactions. Their jokes. Their knowledge. The way they interacted with chat. The excitement they created when someone hit something huge. Eventually, you stopped randomly finding their stream. You started looking for them. That's the level we're trying to build. We want Mount Olympus customers opening Whatnot and wondering: "Who's breaking tonight?" And we want your name to eventually be one of the answers they're hoping to hear. The Hobby Knowledge Has to Be Real. We're not looking for someone who watched a few breaks before applying. You should genuinely understand the modern sports card hobby. Terms like PYT, Random Team, RPA, SSP, case hit, refractor, parallel, numbered, comp, PSA 10, pop report, short print, on-card auto, rookie variation, Gold Vinyl, and Superfractor shouldn't sound foreign to you. You should have legitimate knowledge of NFL, NBA, and MLB players , including current stars, rookies, legends, and major hobby names. You don't have to know everything. Nobody does. But collectors can tell very quickly when someone actually lives the hobby. Then Comes the Part a Resume Can't Show Us. Are you entertaining? Can you talk to anybody? Can you think on your feet? Are you naturally competitive? Can you laugh at yourself? Can you tell a story? Can you bring energy without sounding fake? Can you make someone watching from their couch feel like they're hanging out with you? That's the difference between someone who breaks cards and someone who builds a following. What We're Looking For Deep interest in sports cards and collecting Strong knowledge of NFL, NBA, and MLB Familiarity with modern sports card products and manufacturers Comfortable being live and unscripted on camera Naturally outgoing and conversational Strong sense of humor and personality Ability to entertain for extended periods Quick thinker who can react naturally in the moment Competitive and motivated by growth Comfortable interacting directly with customers Someone who wants to become great at the craft of live breaking Experience in breaking, Whatnot, streaming, broadcasting, podcasting, content creation, sales, coaching, athletics, or other performance-driven environments is certainly valuable. But ultimately, we're looking for the combination that's difficult to find: Someone who genuinely knows cards and genuinely knows how to entertain people. $50 an Hour to Talk Sports and Rip Cards? Yes. There's a Catch. You have to be really good at it. We're building a serious breaking operation, and we're looking for people capable of becoming recognizable personalities within it. That means learning. Improving. Watching your own performance. Understanding your audience. Developing your style. And getting better every time that camera turns on. Because the long-term goal isn't simply to have you host another stream. It's to build a following that notices when you're not hosting it. Think You Could Run the Room? Don't just tell us. Show us. Record your 2-4 minute mock break and email the video to tom@ontimetalent.com along with a little about your sports card background, the products you know best, and any experience with Whatnot, breaking, streaming, broadcasting, sales, or content creation. If you've always thought you could be great behind the camera, this is your chance to find out. Bring the knowledge. Bring the energy. Bring the personality. Mount Olympus Rips will bring the cards.
Pay:
From $50.00 per hour Application Question(s): Email tom@ontimetalent.com with a quick note about your sports card knowledge and your high-energy, on-camera personality. Please record a 2-4 minute video on your phone showing us how you would host a live sports card break. You can use cards or packs you already own—we're more interested in seeing how you perform than the product itself. Treat the camera as if you're live on Whatnot with customers watching and buying into the break. Show us your personality, energy, sports knowledge, and ability to keep viewers entertained while discussing the cards you're revealing. Demonstrate your knowledge of the hobby, including rookies/prospects, parallels, numbered cards, autographs, SSPs, case hits, chaser cards, or other significant pulls.
Bonus:
Pretend you just hit one of the biggest cards in the product. Show us how you'd react and explain why it's a big hit. No editing or professional setup needed—phone video, one take. Send us the video file when complete.
