Nebraska Public Media is building a new daily talk show designed to inform, engage, and connect Nebraskans through timely conversations on news, public affairs, culture, education, health, and issues affecting communities across the state. This show will be produced for both radio and digital platforms, with a focus on strong storytelling, thoughtful interviews, audience engagement, and content that reflects the interests and needs of Nebraska audiences. To support this new initiative, Nebraska Public Media is hiring a team of content professionals who will help shape, produce, host, report, and distribute daily talk show content. The Radio Talk Show Host/Producer is responsible for hosting and producing daily talk show on Nebraska Public Media Radio network and digital platforms on a variety of subjects which may include hard news, health, education, and culture. Leads the editorial direction of the show, in consultation with Radio Network Director and News Director. Responsible for developing ideas, expert guests, sound and style of the show. Supervises associates responsible for the talk show and related content. Nebraska Public Media offers a full spectrum of communications services to the citizens of Nebraska, the nation and the world. Some of these services include a nine-station, statewide noncommercial public television network affiliated with PBS; a nine-station, statewide noncommercial public radio network affiliated with NPR; a cutting-edge Digital Media Group; and state-of-the-art audio, video and multimedia production capability delivered via broadcast, satellite, cable, Internet and broadband delivery channels. Additional years of relevant experience or completed relevant education may substitute for required education/experience on a year-for-year basis. Experience training, editing and mentoring production staff. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in journalism, communications, broadcasting, or related field Five (5) years of experience in a professional media position with supervisory experience. Producing content for multiple content platforms. Skill with audio production techniques and procedures. The successful candidate will have the ability to impeccably host live interviews, write clear and succinct scripts for audiences on multiple platforms, and demonstrate effective interviewing techniques. They will have knowledge of current issues in Nebraska and be able to demonstrate interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
