Host Standards and Expectations Greeting Standards and Training:
Greet every guest with a genuine smile and friendly demeanor, making them feel welcomed, comfortable and valued. Maintain eye contact to show attentiveness and sincerity. Use open body language, such as standing with a composed posture, to appear approachable and friendly. Use phrases like "Thank you" or "We appreciate that you chose us for your special occasion." Express gratitude for their patronage or feedback. Show empathy by understanding and addressing any concerns or special needs the guests might have. Keep a positive and enthusiastic demeanor, even during busy or stressful times. Handle difficult situations with grace and maintain a calm, positive attitude. Show enthusiasm for the restaurant and its offerings, creating an inviting atmosphere. The guests in front of us take preference, always. Phone calls can be placed on hold to accommodate guests at the host stand
Table and Seating Requests:
These are not to be taken lightly. People come here intentionally, they leave intentional notes, we need to be doing a better job at reading and granting preference to our guest requests.
Seating and Rotation:
Every guest should be offered the best available table at the moment. This mens seating our preferred areas first and waiting to seat lovers and sushi until necessary (overflow). If a guest asks to be moved, we find them the best available space to be moved to and we work with the team to execute this swiftly without delay.
Composure:
Remain calm even during busy periods or when handling something that is difficult. Your demeanor can influence the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. Address issues or complaints with a solution-oriented approach. Focus on resolving problems efficiently. Continuously learn from experiences and seek ways to improve your effectiveness.
During and End of Night:
Notice and address small details that contribute to the overall guest experience, such as ensuring the sofa is clean and comfortable. Do not socialize or distract servers, bussers or bartenders, they are or should be busy doing their work and do not need to be distracted. Opentable updates until the last table leave are paramount for us getting the information from opentable we need. Saying goodbye to each and every guest leaving the building. Making sure the host stand is left clean and organized with tablets plugged in.
