About STEAM Indoor Play Center STEAM Indoor Play Center is a family-owned indoor play center and café in North Canton, Ohio, designed primarily for children ages 7 and under. We offer open play, classes, special events, birthday parties, and imaginative play experiences that give children a place to explore, create, and connect. We're more than a place to play — we want STEAM to be a welcoming community where families feel comfortable, recognized, and excited to come back. Position Overview We're looking for a friendly, outgoing, and dependable Part-Time Team Member to join STEAM for approximately 7-20 hours per week , primarily working weekday closing shifts and weekends . This is a hands-on position that combines customer service, barista responsibilities, birthday parties, cleaning, and general play center operations. We're especially looking for someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with people. We want team members who will start conversations, get to know our regulars, mingle with families, and help parents and children feel welcome — not just wait behind the front desk for someone to need something. There's always something to do at STEAM! You should be comfortable taking initiative, working independently, and moving between different responsibilities throughout your shift. Responsibilities Welcome families, assist with check-in, and provide friendly, personable customer service Prepare and serve coffee, matcha, and other beverages from the STEAM Café Operate our POS system and accurately process transactions Answer questions about open play, memberships, parties, events, and programs Interact with families throughout the play center and get to know our regular guests Help host birthday parties, including setup, guest assistance, cleanup, and room resets Monitor play areas and help maintain a safe and welcoming environment Clean and sanitize toys, tables, play equipment, café areas, bathrooms, and common spaces Restock and organize supplies as needed Notice what needs to be done and take initiative without always waiting for direction Assist with special events, activities, crafts, and other STEAM programs as needed What We're Looking For Must be 18 years or older and comfortable working independently at times Primarily available for weekday closing shifts and weekends Friendly, personable, and comfortable starting conversations with guests Reliable, self-motivated, and willing to jump in where needed Comfortable working with young children and families Able to balance guest interaction, café service, cleaning, and other responsibilities throughout a shift Barista, coffee, food service, hospitality, retail, or customer service experience is preferred but not required Willingness to learn is just as important as previous experience Schedule & Compensation Part-Time | Approximately 7-20 hours per week Primary availability needed for weekday closing shifts and weekends. Additional hours may be available for birthday parties, events, and seasonal needs.
Starting Pay:
