Enthusiastically greet each guest upon arrival and provide a gracious farewell at departure. Manage reservations, walk-in guests, wait lists, and seating assignments according to established procedures. Seat guests strategically to maintain an efficient flow of service and support appropriate table pacing. Communicate estimated wait times clearly and courteously; keep waiting guests informed of updates. Monitor the dining room and track table status, including clean, occupied, dirty, and available tables. Reset tables as needed and communicate table status promptly with the service team. Maintain a warm, professional, polished, and guest-focused presence at the host stand and throughout the restaurant. Share current features, promotions, menu information, and event details; answer guest questions accurately and courteously. Address routine guest questions or concerns professionally and involve a manager promptly when needed. Answer phones, manage guest inquiries, and provide accurate information in a friendly and professional manner. Support the service team as needed by running food or beverages, providing refills, pre-bussing, resetting tables, and assisting with guest requests. Ensure guests receive requested items promptly, including beverages, silverware, condiments, menus, and other table needs. Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and guest-ready appearance of the host stand, lobby, entrance, and assigned dining areas. Follow all company food-safety, sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards. Work collaboratively with managers and team members to ensure every guest receives prompt attention and excellent service. Gather brief guest feedback when appropriate and share meaningful feedback or concerns with management. Complete assigned opening, closing, cleaning, stocking, and side-work duties. Support restaurant operations and perform other duties assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Five years of previous hospitality, restaurant, or guest-facing experience required. Ability to deliver warm, attentive, and professional guest service. Strong communication, listening, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to remain composed, friendly, and efficient during busy service periods. Comfortable using a computer, phone, reservation system, and standard front-desk tools. Basic knowledge of food-handling and restaurant-service practices preferred. Ability to handle cash or credit-card transactions accurately, if assigned. Reliable attendance and flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and shifts based on guest volume. A positive attitude, professional appearance, attention to detail, and willingness to help wherever needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Remain on your feet and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequently bend, reach, crouch, kneel, and stoop while seating guests, resetting tables, stocking supplies, and completing side work. Safely lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Move safely and efficiently through a busy dining room while carrying menus, dishes, beverages, and service items. Communicate clearly with guests and team members in a busy restaurant environment. Read reservation screens, guest information, menus, signage, and written instructions. Work in varying indoor temperatures and around standard cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
