Duties Greet guests warmly with enthusiasm and professionalism, creating a positive first impression. Manage restaurant reservation systems and seating charts efficiently using restaurant table management software TOAST. Coordinate with the service team to assign tables and optimize seating arrangements for maximum efficiency. Answer phone inquiries with clear communication, providing accurate information about wait times and reservation details while practicing excellent phone etiquette. Maintain organized waitlists and monitor table turnover to ensure timely seating and guest flow. Assist guests with special requests or concerns promptly, demonstrating excellent customer service and guest relations skills. Uphold food safety standards by ensuring cleanliness in the host station and adhering to health regulations throughout guest interactions. Experience Previous experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for interacting effectively with guests and team members. Familiarity with restaurant reservation management system TOAST is desirable but but required. Basic math skills are necessary for managing waitlists, calculating approximate wait times, and handling cash or POS transactions if needed. Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tables and guest requests simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
