Job Description

Position Summary The Lobby & Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, organized, and welcoming environment throughout the resort's public and common areas. This position focuses primarily on the lobby, spa, pool areas, public restrooms, hallways, and other guest-facing spaces while also providing support to the Housekeeping and Laundry departments as needed. This is a hands-on position that requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to recognize and address cleaning needs throughout the property without waiting for direction. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPublic & Common Areas Clean and maintain the resort lobby, entrances, hallways, stairways, elevators, and other common areas. Sweep, vacuum, mop, and spot-clean floors throughout the property. Dust and wipe furniture, fixtures, windowsills, doors, railings, and other surfaces. Clean glass doors, windows, and mirrors as needed. Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners. Maintain clean and sanitary public restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, counters, and fixtures. Restock restroom supplies including toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other guest amenities. Regularly inspect common areas throughout the shift and immediately address spills, trash, debris, or other cleanliness concerns. Keep entrances and high-traffic areas clean and presentable throughout the day. Spa & Pool Areas Maintain cleanliness of spa and pool common areas, including floors, seating areas, hallways, locker areas, and restrooms. Remove used towels and transport them to the laundry area. Restock clean towels and other designated supplies. Wipe and sanitize high-touch surfaces. Clean up standing water and wet floors promptly and place appropriate safety signage when necessary. Monitor areas throughout the shift for cleanliness, sanitation, and safety concerns. Report maintenance, plumbing, equipment, or safety issues to management promptly. Housekeeping Support Assist the Housekeeping team during high-occupancy periods or when additional support is needed. Help strip guest rooms by removing used linens, towels, and trash. Deliver linens, towels, amenities, and housekeeping supplies to designated areas. Assist with cleaning guest rooms when directed and properly trained. Help maintain housekeeping closets, storage areas, and supply stations. Respond to reasonable housekeeping support requests as assigned by management. Laundry Support Assist with washing, drying, folding, sorting, and organizing resort linens and towels as needed. Transport clean and soiled linens between departments. Keep laundry work areas clean and organized. Help maintain adequate linen and towel supplies for Housekeeping, Spa, and Pool operations. Follow proper procedures for handling soiled linens and operating laundry equipment. General Responsibilities Follow established cleaning schedules, checklists, and sanitation procedures. Use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment safely and according to instructions. Maintain housekeeping carts, cleaning equipment, and storage areas in a clean and organized condition. Immediately report damaged property, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or unusual conditions. Respond professionally and courteously when interacting with guests. Assist guests with basic questions or direct them to the appropriate department. Work cooperatively with Housekeeping, Laundry, Spa, Front Desk, Maintenance, and other resort departments. Complete additional cleaning and operational duties as assigned based on resort needs. Qualifications Previous janitorial, housekeeping, hotel, resort, or commercial cleaning experience preferred but not required. Strong attention to cleanliness and detail. Dependable and able to work independently. Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy guest environment. Comfortable working around guests while maintaining professionalism. Ability to follow cleaning, sanitation, chemical-handling, and safety procedures. Willingness to assist multiple departments as operational needs change. Physical Requirements This position requires frequent standing and walking throughout the shift. Employees must be able to bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive cleaning motions. Must be able to safely lift and carry approximately 25-50 pounds and push housekeeping, laundry, or cleaning carts. The position may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, wet environments, heat, humidity, and varying indoor and outdoor temperatures. Schedule Availability may be required for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on resort occupancy and operational needs. Performance Expectations The Lobby & Public Area Attendant is expected to take ownership of the appearance and cleanliness of the resort's public spaces. Guest-facing areas should remain clean, stocked, safe, and presentable throughout the entire shift. Team members are expected to actively identify tasks that need attention and assist Housekeeping and Laundry when primary public-area responsibilities are complete.
Pay:
$17.13 - $18.50 per hour
