Hotel General Manager - Position Summary The Hotel General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall leadership, operational excellence, and financial performance of the hotel. The GM ensures exceptional guest satisfaction, effective team management, and compliance with brand standards and local regulations while driving profitability and long-term growth. Key Responsibilities Operations Management Oversee daily hotel operations including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, maintenance, and security Ensure high standards of guest service and satisfaction Monitor quality, cleanliness, and safety across all departments Financial & Revenue Management Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts Control costs and optimize revenue through pricing and occupancy strategies Analyze financial reports and implement corrective actions when needed Leadership & Human Resources Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate department heads and staff Foster a positive workplace culture focused on accountability and service excellence Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and HR best practices Sales, Marketing & Guest Relations Drive sales, marketing, and promotional initiatives Build strong relationships with guests, vendors, travel partners, and local stakeholders Handle guest feedback and resolve escalated complaints professionally Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations Oversee security procedures and emergency preparedness Maintain licenses, inspections, and brand standards Strategic Planning Implement business strategies aligned with ownership and brand goals Identify opportunities for growth, renovation, and service enhancement Prepare regular performance reports for ownership or corporate offices Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred) 5-10+ years of hotel management experience, including senior leadership roles Strong financial, operational, and people-management skills Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities Proven ability to lead diverse teams and deliver high guest satisfaction Proficiency in hotel management systems and MS Office Working Conditions Full-time, flexible schedule including weekends and holidays Fast-paced hospitality environment
