a General Manager.
POSITION SUMMARY
The General Manager (GM) at Hyatt Studios Superior CO is responsible for leading all aspects of hotel operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences, maximize financial performance, and uphold Hyatt's culture of care and operational excellence. As the primary leader of the property, the GM oversees team development, financial management, sales and marketing initiatives, and compliance with Hyatt Studios brand standards. This role requires a strategic and hands-on leader who can balance daily operations with long-term business objectives in an extended-stay environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Operations ▪ Provide overall leadership and direction for all hotel departments, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and sales. ▪ Ensure consistent delivery of Hyatt's purpose of care for guests, associates, and the community. ▪ Maintain full compliance with Hyatt brand standards, operational policies, and local regulations. ▪ Oversee daily property operations, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and service excellence. ▪ Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Financial Performance and Reporting ▪ Develop and manage the property's annual operating and capital budgets. ▪ Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly financial performance against budget goals. ▪ Oversee accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and purchasing processes. ▪ Analyze performance metrics (Occupancy, ADR, Rev
PAR, GOP
) and implement strategies for improvement. ▪ Ensure proper cost control and labor management practices are in place. Sales, Marketing and Revenue Management ▪ Collaborate with the Hyatt Studios commercial support team on pricing, revenue, and marketing strategies. ▪ Develop and maintain local business relationships to drive extended-stay occupancy and corporate business. ▪ Oversee execution of local marketing and community outreach programs. ▪ Ensure the team actively solicits new business opportunities and manages key accounts. ▪ Support online reputation management and brand engagement initiatives. Team Development and Human Resources Recruit, train, and retain a high-performing team aligned with Hyatt's values and service culture. ▪ Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and development plans. ▪ Promote associate engagement, recognition, and professional growth. ▪ Ensure compliance with labor laws, HR policies, and company procedures. ▪ Serve as a mentor and role model for leadership behavior and integrity. Guest Experience and Brand Standards ▪ Ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction by maintaining service and cleanliness standards. ▪ Monitor guest feedback through surveys, online reviews, and direct interactions, implementing improvements as needed. ▪ Maintain a consistent presence in public areas to engage with guests and team members. ▪ Lead service recovery efforts promptly and effectively when issues arise. ▪ Ensure brand audit readiness at all times. Safety, Maintenance and Compliance ▪ Ensure compliance with all OSHA, fire, and safety regulations. ▪ Oversee preventive maintenance programs and property inspections. ▪ Maintain emergency preparedness and response plans for all associates. ▪ Promote a culture of safety and accountability across all departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience ▪ Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business, or related field preferred. ▪ Minimum of 5 years of progressive hotel management experience, with at least 2 years as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager. ▪ Experience with extended-stay or select-service hotel brands preferred. ▪ Strong understanding of hotel financials, budgeting, and operational systems. Skills and Competencies ▪ Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with a focus on associate engagement. ▪ Strong analytical and financial management abilities. ▪ Proficiency in hotel management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital communication tools. ▪ Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills. ▪ Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
▪ Ability to move freely throughout the property to inspect and engage with departments. ▪ Occasional lifting or carrying of items up to 25 pounds. ▪ Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as business demands. ▪ Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with Hyatt brand standards.
