The new Hilton Garden Inn Mansfield is seeking an experienced, motivated and hands-on Assistant General Manager to join our opening leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to help launch a brand-new Hilton hotel, build a strong team from the ground up and establish the service culture that will define the property for years to come. We are looking for more than someone who can manage a shift. The right candidate will be a dependable operational leader who can work closely with the General Manager, support every department and confidently take ownership of the hotel when the General Manager is away. This position is ideal for a hospitality professional who enjoys developing employees, solving problems, interacting with guests and being directly involved in hotel operations. Previous Hilton experience is strongly preferred, and new-hotel opening experience is a plus. Position Overview The Assistant General Manager will work alongside the General Manager to oversee the hotel's daily operations, opening preparation, team development, guest experience and financial performance. Because Hilton Garden Inn includes rooms, food and beverage, a bar and meeting space, the AGM must be comfortable supporting multiple departments. These include the front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance and sales. During the pre-opening period, the AGM will assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, operational setup and preparing the hotel for opening. Key Responsibilities Partner closely with the General Manager in the opening and ongoing operation of the hotel Help recruit, interview, onboard and train the opening team Assist in creating a positive, professional and accountable workplace culture Provide daily leadership and operational support to all hotel departments Oversee front-office operations and ensure accurate, welcoming and efficient guest service Work with housekeeping leadership to maintain Hilton cleanliness and room-readiness standards Support the hotel's restaurant, bar, breakfast and meeting-space operations Respond to guest concerns and resolve issues professionally and promptly Monitor guest feedback and help develop action plans that improve satisfaction Coach department leaders and hourly employees through regular communication and follow-up Help control labor, operating expenses and departmental productivity Review daily reports, hotel activity, staffing levels and operational priorities Ensure Hilton brand standards, company policies and safety procedures are consistently followed Assist with inventory controls, purchasing and vendor coordination Participate in property inspections, quality assurance preparation and preventive maintenance follow-up Support sales efforts by helping ensure the hotel is ready for groups, meetings and VIP arrivals Serve as the hotel's manager on duty and assume responsibility for the property in the General Manager's absence Be willing to step into the operation and assist the team wherever needed What We Are Looking For Previous hotel leadership experience is required Assistant General Manager, Operations Manager, Front Office Manager or equivalent experience preferred Hilton-brand experience strongly preferred New-hotel opening or hotel-conversion experience is a plus Experience supervising and developing employees across multiple departments Working knowledge of front-office, housekeeping and hotel financial operations Food and beverage experience is highly desirable Strong guest-service and problem-solving skills Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a respectful and supportive culture Strong organization, communication and follow-through Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during busy or challenging situations Comfortable learning and working with hotel systems, reports and technology Ability to work a flexible schedule based on hotel needs Reliable transportation and consistent attendance High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in hospitality, business or a related field is preferred but not required The Ideal Candidate Our ideal AGM leads from the front.
