The Director of Rooms is responsible forthe performance of the Rooms Division, including Front Desk, Guest Services, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Loss Prevention. This is an executive level position reporting to theGeneral Manager. The successful candidatedemonstratestheir ability to produce balanced financial, guestexperienceand associate satisfaction outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Functions as the strategic business leader of theproperty'sRooms Operations;areas of responsibility include Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services and Loss Prevention. Oversees Loss Prevention functions are being properly completed by the Security manager. Responsible for disciplining Security personnel in conjunction with the Security manager. Ensures that a thorough and complete investigation and report is made onincidents, (e.g., losses, thefts, and accidents and acts of violence) incurred by guests and associates. Ensures all lobby andcommon areasaremaintainedand provide a luxury experience for all guests. Analyzes service issues andidentifiestrends. Showing year-over-year improvement in associate satisfaction scores throughout the division includingmaintaininglow turnover and high promotion-from-within ratings Controlling payroll and direct expenses in line with the budget and varying levels of business using corporate-wide technology and other systems Participation in weekly forecasting and scheduling activities Providesassistance toDirectorof Financeduringannualbudget process for the Rooms Division. Preparation of action plans as directed by management Daily reviews of operating outcomes (including corrective action ifrequired) Stays visible and connects with guests on a regular basisto obtain feedback on product quality, servicelevelsand overall satisfaction. Works with direct reports (e.g.department heads) to develop and implement departmental strategiesto ensure delivery of budget, service, and retention goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalencypreferred Must havepreviousexperience in the Rooms Division in a property ofsimilar sizeand quality for a period of five or more years Experience in forecasting & scheduling, daily reviews and analysis of operating results preferred Proficiencyin the use of a computer is necessary (i.e.
Microsoft Office Suite) Excellent verbal and written professional communication skillsrequired Mustdemonstratestrong leadership skills and the ability to nurture managers-in-training Must be detail-oriented and organized Must be able to work closely and communicate with all associates, departments, guests, and clients in a professional manner Must be highly service-oriented The ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights,weekendsand holidays Omni Hotels & Resorts is an equal opportunity/AA/Disability/Veteran employer.
