Job Description

$1,000 Sign On Bonus

  • External Hires Only Oversee the daily operations of department.

Insures all schedules are covered and work evenly distributed, including working a schedule when needed. Inspects dismissals making corrections or working with staff to correct. Daily makes rounds to document project work to assign, condition of departments. Works well with other departments to project a positive attitude and always working as part of the facility team.

Required Knowledge & Skills

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

Three years of related experience. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.

Licenses and Certifications

  • DRIVER'S LICENSE
    Qualifications
  • In lieu of High School diploma GED, 3 years supervisor experience is required.
  • Proven ability to effectively work with others at all levels within and outside TMC.
  • Must, after brief training, be able to demonstrate correct use of chemicals, supplies, and tools assigned.
  • Ability to maintain good public relations with visitors, patients and staff.

Functions

Area of Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day to day operations of the department, report and assist management with any pertinent needs or problems.
  • Coordinates and assists moves within the hospital making sure we have the manpower and completed in a timely manner.
  • Periodically inspects dismissals to insure quality standards are being met.
  • Oversees scheduling and training of new employees. Documents employees training and annual retraining.
  • Assumes responsibility for the department, in the absence of upper management.
  • Promote teamwork and empower teams and individuals to meet their potential
  • Support quality and efficiency improvement efforts
  • Communicate pertinent hospital activities to departmental employees
  • Communicate pertinent department activities to administrative contact and other departments as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain high level of employee morale.
  • Develop personal education to be proactive in meeting the future needs of the department
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward all customers of Tanner, internal and external
  • Project a positive, professional image
  • To provide technical and supervisory assistance in housekeeping services within Tanner Health Systems.
  • Works closely with management on any staff disciplinary problems.
  • Reviews with manager staff annual job standards. Supplies input and comments to manager pertaining to quality, education, training, etc.
  • Participates in any non-medical emergency codes that may be called within the hospital.
  • Performs daily checks of various areas in the facility. Takes corrective actions to comply with quality issues
  • Maintains close control on supply distribution and usage.
  • Provides positive feedback, administers constructive criticism and functions as a sounding board for team or individual ideas.
  • Daily insures proper coverage for all schedules assigning and changing schedules to meet the needs of the facility. Distributing work evenly and working a schedule when needed.
  • May be assigned to bed management transfer center to ensure that transfer and discharge room cleanings for the system are assigned and completed in a timely manner.

Compliance Statement

Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.

Required Knowledge & Skills
