Job Description

Birchwood Cottages is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Services Manager to join our team. At Birchwood Cottages, our Environmental Services team plays an important role in creating a clean, safe, and comfortable home for residents. We are looking for a dependable and compassionate individual who takes pride in maintaining beautiful living spaces and helping ensure every resident enjoys a welcoming environment each day. The Environmental Services Manager must deliver a high-quality experience for the Birchwood Cottages community. This involves general maintenance of the grounds, building interior and exterior, and equipment to support the overall safety, cleanliness, and appearance of Birchwood Cottages, as well as preventative and on-going maintenance and professional service recommendations
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Compliance and working knowledge of safety and emergency policies and procedures as outlined including the ability to demonstrate evacuation procedures. Ensure the maintenance, availability, and awareness of emergency equipment and services (flashlights, radios, fire extinguishers, security systems, first aid kits, 911 services, sprinkler system, emergency lights, smoke detectors, and fire alarm panels.) Maintain a clean and neat building interior and exterior, including common areas and resident rooms, parking lot, courtyard, garden, to ensure a safe, odor-free, and comfortable environment. Oversee housekeeping staff and delegate as applicable. Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing (sink, tub, shower, toilet, and drain), plastering, electrical (low voltage, standard voltage, alarm systems, lights, and related tests), carpentry, floor care (shampooing, spot cleaning, and repairs), mechanical (HVAC), painting, and household appliances (washers/dryers, vents) etc. Assist with resident and household needs including vacant room preparations, furniture arrangement, repairs, picture hangings, and assisting with moves in a timely basis, etc. Assist with all routine and seasonal cleaning as necessary, to include daily trash removal, replace light bulbs as necessary, cleaning windows and screens, shampooing carpets, etc. Perform routine maintenance and repair of lawn care equipment. Maintain the company vehicle including but not limited to monitoring tire pressure, oil changes, tire rotation, and seat belt function.

Schedule:
Monday to Friday On call Weekends as needed
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Dependable and hardworking with a positive attitude. Attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong customer service skills and a passion for serving older adults. Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position and meet background study requirements.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a high school degree or equivalent. Two or more years of experience facility management and maintenance including carpentry, plumbing, painting, general repairs, and grounds keeping. Must successfully complete a criminal background study. Hold current Minnesota Driver's License and automobile insurance. On-Call for building emergencies Must be able to read, write and speak the English Language. People. Purpose. Passion.
