This role involves performing industrial cleaning tasks, handling chemical agents safely, and ensuring compliance with sanitation protocols. The ideal candidate will play a vital part in supporting food safety, hygiene, and operational efficiency through meticulous cleaning practices and adherence to safety procedures. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a clean, safe, and compliant environment in a dynamic setting. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning of production areas, equipment, and facilities using appropriate cleaning techniques and chemical agents. Handle and apply chemical cleaning agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures and using proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct industrial cleaning tasks that may involve heavy lifting, scrubbing, sweeping, mopping, and waste removal. Follow strict sanitation protocols aligned with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure compliance with food safety standards. Maintain cleanliness of janitorial supplies and ensure proper storage of chemicals and cleaning tools. Use respiratory protection equipment when required during chemical handling or in areas with airborne contaminants. Document cleaning activities accurately and report any sanitation issues or safety hazards promptly. Adhere to all safety protocols related to chemical handling, respiratory protection, and general workplace safety. Assist in maintaining a clean environment conducive to food processing operations while supporting overall facility sanitation efforts. Experience Prior custodial or janitorial experience in an industrial or food processing environment is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical agent handling, and industrial sanitation procedures. Familiarity with GMP standards and food safety requirements is preferred. Experience with heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks associated with industrial cleaning. Basic math skills for measuring chemicals and recording sanitation activities accurately. Proven ability to follow detailed safety protocols and chemical handling safety procedures. Strong work ethic with attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
