In this role, you will oversee daily custodial operations, supervise staff, ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations, and promote high standards of cleanliness. Your leadership will be instrumental in managing industrial and commercial cleaning tasks, fostering teamwork, and delivering exceptional service to all residents. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a diverse team while ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Responsible for all facets related to Building Custodial, including development & maintaining department required standards. Responsible for Custodial Department personnel. Duties Supervise and coordinate custodial staff to ensure efficient completion of cleaning, sanitation, laundry, and housekeeping tasks across multiple areas. Develop work schedules, assign duties, and monitor team performance to meet operational goals. Conduct regular inspections to verify adherence to safety regulations, sanitation standards, and quality benchmarks. Provide training and guidance on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and use of cleaning equipment. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and timely replenishment. Enforce safety protocols to minimize hazards and promote a safe working environment for staff. Collaborate with management to develop cleaning & sanitation management plans that support customer service excellence and operational efficiency. Positive communication, efficient time management, tenant satisfaction & ability to lead department demands including staff & contractors. Department leadership & staff training. Immediate action when any non-compliance is acknowledged (verbal documentation & corrective action). Ability to maintain & monitor all Building Custodial Program records, including staff scheduling and assignments. Ability to take immediate action when a custodial related non-compliance is acknowledged (cleaning, carpet extraction, flooring, bathroom care, etc.) Proficiency in basic cleaning related skills and chemicals knowledge. Proficiency in comprehension of department related protocol, instruction, monitoring and enforcement of all department members. Proficiency in maintaining the set standard for move -ins/outs & parking enforcement. Proficiency in properly completing, assigning, monitoring, following up & correcting work orders prior to submittal. Checking and responding to voice mail on a timely basis. Checking cubby and assigning work orders. Ability to respond proficiently to off-hours emergency service calls. Ability to assist contracted trades with custodial related knowledge. Knowledge, monitoring and replenishment of custodial supplies within the allotted budget parameters. Responsible for providing coverage during staff absences. Needs to be able to have the ability to cover housekeeping supervisor when absent. Qualifications Proven experience in custodial services, industrial cleaning, or janitorial roles with demonstrated supervisory responsibilities. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and communicate clearly at all levels. Knowledge of safety regulations related to cleaning operations, sanitation practices, and equipment handling. Experience in commercial cleaning, hospitality housekeeping management, or related fields such as laundry or facility maintenance. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Customer service orientation with a focus on delivering high-quality cleanliness standards. Previous supervisory or team management experience is preferred; managerial communication skills are essential for success.
