Qualification & Duties:

Building principals will be directly responsible for supervision of building custodians. They report directly to Maintenance Supervisor and/or Superintendent. Building inspection forms will be used regularly. Time and work area responsibility sheets have been prepared and approved for each custodian. Custodians will be responsible for over seeing the cleaning of their buildings and custodial coverage of each. They are responsible to the Superintendent, Maintenance Supervisor, and the building principals. All custodians are responsible for minor repairs and improvements. The maintenance supervisor will be responsible for: a. Overall custodial supervision b. Major repairs and improvements c. Overseeing minor repairs and improvements d. Assign, supervise and inspect outside work crews for work our staff cannot handle e. Examine building regularly for needed repairs and maintenance f. Helps recruit, screen and make recommendations for hiring g. Other areas from job description (to be reviewed with administration.) All absents will be reported to the Business Manager. Personal leave, vacation time and compensation time will be requested in writing and will be approved by the Superintendent. All overtime is to be reported to the building principal the following day who then will report to the Business Manager. Overtime is to be kept to a minimum. Compensation time will be given for overtime when ever possible. Time and a half will be paid when compensation time is not possible. Snow removal will be counted as a part of the regular day. Earlier leaving time will be allowed whenever possible. Time and a half will be paid when compensation time is not possible. Job descriptions for custodians are to be reviewed and updated.
