Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented School Janitor to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing custodial duties across school facilities, ensuring all areas are hygienic, well-maintained, and compliant with safety standards. Duties Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment. Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and polishing to maintain a pristine appearance. Handle trash removal and recycling to ensure cleanliness throughout the school premises. Replenish supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper in restrooms and other designated areas. Follow safety protocols related to custodial work and ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and tools. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to appropriate personnel promptly. Requirements Prior janitorial or custodial experience is preferred; experience in commercial or industrial cleaning is a plus. Familiarity with cleaning procedures for various surfaces and materials. Ability to operate cleaning machinery safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods. Excellent time management skills to complete assigned duties efficiently within scheduled hours. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety guidelines.
