DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to maintain and clean the school Ability to work as a team Ability to perform basic building repairs. Knowledge of appropriate sanitation and basic health procedures. Knowledge of basic heating and ventilation, electrical and plumbing systems. Ability to follow directions. Ability to lift items up to seventy-five pounds. Knowledge of alarm systems and assist with building security. Ability to safely utilize chemicals in cleaning and maintenance procedures. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to utilize cleaning and maintenance equipment. Ability to operate power equipment such as buffer, scrubbers, lawn mowers, garden tools, snow blowers, hand tools, etc. Ability to work in a school environment and communicate with school personnel. Ability to learn basic system maintenance or demonstrate aptitude for such. Ability to work indoors and outdoors as deemed necessary and appropriate. Ability to work outdoors during inclement weather Ability to work at heights up to 40 feet from ladders, scaffolds and lifts Ability to change light bulbs, paint and have knowledge of light carpentry Maintain external grounds around the building as directed. Use outdoor power tools and lawn equipment. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Facilities Director and Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

Facilities Director Job Goal:
To provide students, staff and the community with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient school.
Performance Responsibilities:
Keep building and grounds including sidewalks and play areas neat and clean at all times. Assist in regulating heat, ventilation and air-conditioning systems including routine maintenance to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity. Assist in shoveling or treating sidewalks and entrance areas. Clean all classrooms including dusting of furniture. Maintain all floor areas including stripping and waxing tile and/or linoleum floors and steam clean and vacuum rug areas. Change bulbs Check all doors to ensure they are appropriately secured. Secure building when departing and ensure all alarm systems are activated. Scrub and disinfect all toilets. Stock and clean all bathroom floors on a daily basis. Clean all sinks, mirrors and partitions daily Empty all classroom, office and bathroom trash and recycling daily Clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains on a daily basis. Wash windows on a periodic basis on both the inside and outside. Empty all rubbish/recycling and keep grounds around the building free of rubbish. Clean all marker boards unless specifically directed to by a staff member or the principal. Make such building repairs as directed or known to him/her. Report immediately vandalism and damage to the facilities director and building principal. Report need for major repairs to the facilities manager. Weekly grounds mowing and weed whacking Remain on school premises during work hours and during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and his/her attendance requested by the principal. Conduct an ongoing program of general maintenance. Comply with all local, state and federal laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, chemicals, rubbish and waste. Assist in conducting periodic inspections of alarm and safety systems. Perform such other tasks and duties as the principal or the facilities manager may from time to time assign
