Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to join our team and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all. As a Custodian, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our facilities, contributing to a healthy and positive atmosphere. Duties Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting all areas of the facility. Handle window cleaning and floor care using appropriate equipment to ensure spotless surfaces. Operate cleaning machinery such as pressure washers, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners safely and effectively. Maintain sanitation standards by properly handling chemicals, waste disposal, and infection control protocols. Conduct laundry services for linens or uniforms as needed, ensuring proper handling and storage. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly during all cleaning activities to ensure safety. Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving cleaning supplies or equipment to support efficient operations. Perform janitorial duties in both commercial and public spaces, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are met consistently. Requirements Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or institutional settings. Knowledge of cleaning techniques including window cleaning, pressure washing, and floor care. Experience with chemical handling and sanitation procedures to promote infection control. Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and efficiently. Strong physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking. Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with staff and visitors when needed. Attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility. Ability to follow safety protocols including PPE use and proper chemical storage.
