Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our facilities. In this vital role, you will ensure that all areas are kept spotless, sanitized, and welcoming for employees, visitors, and clients alike. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas. Handle various cleaning agents and chemicals safely in accordance with safety protocols to ensure proper sanitation. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Conduct detailed floor care including buffing, polishing, and heavy-duty cleaning to preserve flooring quality. Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, common areas, and workspaces by disinfecting surfaces and replenishing supplies. Follow safety procedures during manual handling and heavy lifting tasks to prevent injuries and ensure compliance with safety standards. Assist with minor facilities maintenance tasks as needed to support overall building upkeep. Requirements Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and chemical handling safety procedures. Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial vacuums effectively. Strong manual handling skills with an understanding of safe lifting practices for heavy objects. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining a hygienic environment. Good communication skills with a customer service-oriented mindset when interacting with staff or visitors.
