Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and appearance. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to a positive experience for staff, visitors, and clients alike. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all areas of the facility. Handle window cleaning and floor care using appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure spotless surfaces. Operate cleaning machinery such as pressure washers, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners safely and effectively. Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas while adhering to sanitation standards. Manage laundry services for linens or uniforms as needed, ensuring proper handling and storage of all items. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly during chemical handling and cleaning procedures to ensure safety. Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving cleaning supplies or equipment while following manual handling safety protocols. Follow infection control procedures diligently to prevent contamination and maintain a healthy environment. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any repairs or replacements needed promptly. Support overall custodial operations by adhering to safety guidelines and ensuring compliance with health regulations. Skills Proven custodial or janitorial experience with knowledge of commercial cleaning practices. Skilled in window cleaning, pressure washing, and floor care techniques. Experience with chemical handling, sanitation procedures, and infection control standards. Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and efficiently. Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks regularly. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors. Knowledge of proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during all cleaning activities. Familiarity with laundry services, commercial cleaning tools, and sanitation protocols is preferred. Ability to follow detailed instructions carefully while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
