Full Job Description Section I:
Summary of the
Position:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Part Time Township Cleaner will ensure a clean and hygienic work environment for our employees and residents within the Township building and offices. This position is a Part Time position, classified as a Non-exempt/Hourly position in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Section II:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform routine cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting floors and surfaces, according to established schedules.
Sanitize and disinfect high-touch areas, including door handles, light switches, countertops, and other frequently touched surfaces.
Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and locker rooms by scrubbing and disinfecting toilets, sinks, floors, and other fixtures.
Maintain cleanliness of breakrooms by wiping and disinfecting counters, tables, sink areas, and appliances.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of meeting rooms, common areas, and the front entrance.
Clean glass surfaces, including windows, doors, and partitions.
Empty and replace liners in trash and recycling bins. Move recycling bins to designated collection areas according to established schedules.
Replenish restroom and breakroom supplies, including paper products, soap, and air fresheners.
Operate, clean, and maintain custodial equipment, including vacuums, carpet cleaners, floor polishers, and other assigned equipment.
Clean and properly store tools and equipment after each use and ensure they remain in good working condition.
Identify and promptly report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damages, or needed repairs to the supervisor.
Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed and at the end of each shift.
Use appropriate cleaning chemicals, products, and equipment for specific surfaces and tasks while following established safety procedures and manufacturer instructions.
Follow all applicable health, safety, and workplace procedures while performing custodial duties.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Section III:
Knowledge/Qualifications:
Qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required for the position.
Must successfully pass a background check, FBI fingerprints, and CJIS clearance.
Ability to understand, follow and convey oral and written instructions.
Strong organizational skills, time management and attention to detail.
Good knowledge of different synthetic cleaning chemicals and supplies.
Ability to perform physical tasks associated with cleaning and maintaining facilities.
Ability to work and interact in a positive and collaborative manner.
Demonstrate reliability and adaptability.
Uphold all Township safety protocols to contribute to a zero-incident workplace.
Section IV:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years' experience in professional cleaning, custodial, or commercial cleaning, or related field is required.
