Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a 5-Hour Per Day, M-F Custodian and be a vital part of maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This energetic role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the cleanliness and sanitation of our facilities through efficient custodial practices. You will be responsible for performing cleaning and maintenance tasks with precision, ensuring that our spaces are hygienic, well-maintained, and inviting for everyone who enters. Duties Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to uphold cleanliness standards. Handle various cleaning agents and chemicals safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination. Operate custodial equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and other cleaning machinery to maintain floors in pristine condition. Conduct light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or touch-up painting to support overall facility upkeep. Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial activities, including proper manual handling and heavy lifting techniques to prevent injuries. Maintain sanitation by disinfecting high-touch surfaces and ensuring compliance with health standards. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed to support a safe and efficient environment. Qualifications-Must be willing/able to obtain necessary clearances and pre-employment physical/drug testing Proven janitorial or custodial experience with familiarity in commercial cleaning environments. Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and chemical agent handling safety procedures. Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and visitors. Basic facilities maintenance skills; residential painting or porter experience is a plus.
