• New Kensington Center (Regular Part-Time) (Staff) Division Facilities Management & Construction(DIV) Department Facilities & Grounds Job Description Position Overview This position is responsible to perform daily cleaning of facilities in accordance with established standards and procedures including setups and minor equipment repair.

Essential Job Functions Perform daily cleaning of all interior space within an assigned area including changing air filters as needed. Clean all restroom facilities, e.g., sinks, toilets, floors, and walls. Move furniture and transport boxes of College materials as needed. Empty trash and recycling containers. Clean upholstered furniture; clean and polish other furniture and fixtures. Sweep and mop floors. Run mechanical auto scrubber in hallways, corridors, etc. Buff hard surface floors with an electric buffer. Vacuum and shampoo carpets and furniture as needed. Strip and wax floors. Wash walls and windows. Report maintenance repairs, damaged furniture, or other maintenance or safety concerns to the facilities office. Change light bulbs and ceiling tile, and perform monthly equipment safety checks of fire extinguishers [AM], exit lights, and AEDs [PM]. Perform set-ups and tear-downs for events prior to or on the day of the event. Fill various dispensers, e.g., restrooms, and lids for coffee cups. Keep equipment clean and in good working order. Order supplies in accordance with established procedures. Other Job Functions Maintain the custodial closet in a neat and orderly fashion. Occasionally responsible for exterior work, e.g., snow removal, entrance cleaning, and trash removal. Maintain up-to-date with professional credentials, best practices, and current disciplines including continued educational requirements through certifications, seminars, training programs, etc. Maintain and develop work-related knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the job through professional and cross-training opportunities. Attend all required meetings and training. Perform additional grade-level support duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Read, comprehend and follow instructions/work orders. Ability to consistently provide excellent customer service. Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments, including managing multiple projects/tasks concurrently and meet varied deadlines. Ability to respond professionally to unpredictability. Identify problems and assist with problem solving. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior work performance must have met or exceeded appropriate work standards. Valid driver's license required. PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA Criminal Record Check Clearance, and FBI Federal Criminal History Record Clearance are required (at applicant's expense).

Environmental Conditions:

Work is primarily conducted in a typical indoor environment with appropriate lighting, noises, and temperature control. Occasional outdoor work as needed. Work with ladders when necessary. Exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.

Hazards:

Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, masks, eye protection, etc. is required to be worn to prevent risk of injury or work-related illnesses. Salary $12.97/hour Schedule Days/Hours Monday
