STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Normal duties include high dusting, sanitizing horizontal surfaces, bathroom cleaning, wastebasket cleaning, floor dusting/vacuuming, floor sanitizing, inspecting one's work, polishing laminated and stainless steel surfaces, wall washing, window cleaning, floor polishing, floor care and treatment, and cleaning all departmental equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES E M NI 1.

Clean patient rooms in the hospital using the seven step method of cleaning. 2 1 0 2. Clean isolation patient rooms using proper infection control procedures. 2 1 0 3. Clean procedure rooms using Terminal Cleaning procedures. 2 1 0 4. Collect trash and dispose of properly. 2 1 0 5. Properly collect infection waste, and process for disposal. 2 1 0 6. Ability to use automatic floor scrubbing machines. 2 1 0 7. Ability to use low speed floor machine. 2 1 0 8. Ability to use high speed floor machine. 2 1 0 9. Ability to use carpet extraction machines. 2 1 0 10. Ability to use wet vacuum equipment. 2 1 0 11. Safely collect sharps disposal containers, and process for disposal. 2 1 0 12. Ability to use vacuum cleaning equipment. 2 1 0 13. Properly prepares floors for finish, and applies finish. 2 1 0 14. Keeps janitor closet clean and neat. 2 1 0 15. Stocks all paper and plastic supplies needed for sanitation. 2 1 0 16. Knowledgeable in the use of wet floor signs. 2 1 0 17. Safely operates patient beds to thoroughly clean all areas. 2 1 0 18. Moves heavy objects in order to clean under them. 2 1 0 19. Conducts furniture moves. 2 1 0 20. Safely uses cleaning chemicals and reads and follows all safety precautions. 2 1 0 21. Any and all other duties, as assigned. 2 1 ESSENTIAL

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Ability to sort linen items and send to proper areas 2. Ability to load, unload and operate dryers. 3. Ability to separate stained and torn items. 4. Ability to operate ironer safely and efficiently. 5. Ability to final fold items as necessary. 6. Knowledge of linen cart delivery system, and each areas delivery level. 7. Ability to utilize wax cloth and cleaning cloth to maintain ironer. 8. Ability to observe and report the need for repairs of equipment to the supervisor. 9. Ability to communicate problems of service to the supervisor. 10. Ability to maintain a clean work area. 11. High dust as needed. 12. Other assigned duties, as needed.
