About the Role True Self Recovery is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Food Prep Cook to join our team. In this role, you'll prepare high-quality meals for inpatient detox clients and coordinate food preparation for our outpatient locations, ensuring food safety standards are met at every step. Your enthusiasm for food preparation and commitment to cleanliness will help create a welcoming, professional environment for clients and staff alike. Duties Prepare ingredients and assemble meals according to established recipes and menu plans, including any dietary or medical restrictions for inpatient detox clients Prepare and package food for delivery to outpatient locations, maintaining portion control and presentation standards Operate kitchen equipment (ovens, slicers, mixers, knives, etc.) safely and efficiently Follow strict food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to prevent contamination Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, kitchen equipment, and storage areas in compliance with health regulations Communicate effectively with kitchen and facility staff to coordinate food production schedules and ensure timely delivery Support menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques Interact with clients and staff in a professional, respectful, and empathetic manner at all times Adhere to state health department and Joint Commission standards as applicable Experience Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide highly desirable Proven background in food preparation within restaurant, healthcare, or food service settings Familiarity with cooking techniques, including slicing, chopping, and recipe adherence Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation standards Strong communication skills and a professional, empathetic demeanor when working with clients in recovery Catering or hospitality experience a plus Requirements ServSafe Certification required — True Self Recovery will assist with obtaining certification if not already held Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and cleanliness Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [X] lbs Reliable and able to commit to a 40+ hour/week schedule What We Offer Starting pay of $15.00/hour Assistance obtaining ServSafe certification [Other benefits — health insurance, PTO, etc.] A supportive team environment grounded in
