Seek two (2) individuals. One (1) Part-time and one (1) Full-time. Ooma Tesoro\'s is an established specialty food business specializing in making the best marinara sauce on the market. The position will be located its production kitchen located in North Adams, MA. Vegetable Prep/Food Production position, we seek a reliable, detail-oriented Team Member to join our specialty food production team. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking fresh vegetables, with a primary focus on onions, garlic, and tomatoes. These positions will be an important part of a small, but mighty, team of food producers making an exceptional product that is sold to finest food grocery stores. We seek both a part-time and a full-time individual. The part-time individual (12-20 hours per week) that offers some flexibility in scheduling and is a great fit for parents with school-aged children, or anyone looking for a flexible, part-time job to stay active, productive, and engaged! The full-time position will be 35-40 hours per week and will be involved with broader responsibilities and skills.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare onions, garlic, and tomatoes for sauce production.
- Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients according to established food safety standards and procedures.
- Safely and efficiently use knives and other commercial kitchen equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized food-preparation area.
- Follow proper food-handling and sanitation procedures.
- Follow recipes, precise measuring, preparation instructions, and production standards consistently.
- Properly clean and sanitize work surfaces, tools, and equipment.
- Work efficiently independently and with the rest of the team, while maintaining quality and consistency.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a professional or commercial kitchen, food preparation skills in a commercial food production setting are a plus, but strong work ethic and willingness to learn are equally important.
- Strong knife skills.
- Ability to follow directions, recipes, and established procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform repetitive food preparation tasks.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 35lbs of ingredients
- Attention to detail, a passion for and pride in producing delicious, high-quality food.
