0.475 Job Description Summary Assist cook in preparation of daily meals that meet Head Start and USDA requirements and maintain a sanitary and healthy environment for children; Schedule varies as needed. Responsibilities Help cook to prepare meals according to the cyclic menu. Foods shall be attractively presented; hot foods shall be served hot and cold foods shall be served cold; Serve meals on time and maintain a sanitary, healthy environment by adhering to regulations for dishwashing and sanitizing surfaces, and by participating in daily custodial duties; Follow the Head Start performance standards for Health and Nutrition, and Oregon Health Division Food Sanitation Rules. Maintain open lines of communication within the program, including participation in team or individual meetings as requested, and submission of documentation or reports, as requested, in a timely manner. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Regular kneeling, stooping and bending, and standing for long periods of time; frequent lifting up to 50lbs; Ability to perform necessary mathematical calculations; Determining and prioritizing own workload. Maintains confidentiality of records and conversations in accordance with policy; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments; Adapts to changes in the work environment; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Manages competing demands; is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events; Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a commercial or USDA kitchen Special Instructions to Applicants Prior to beginning work, the successful candidate must: Enrollment in the Oregon Child Care Division Central Background Registry https://www.oregon.gov/ OCC /Pages/On-line_application_informationpage.aspx Communicable Disease Verification from a qualified Healthcare Provider Provide documentation of verification to work in the US (i.e. Passport, Driver's License, Official ID Card, Original Birth Certificate, Social Security Card) Within 30 days of hire: Pediatric CPR /First Aid certification
